Can I use an external dimmer (e.g., a wall dial)?
No. The KinkyLight is not suitable for external dimmers. The lamp features an integrated internal touch dimmer that allows you to adjust brightness steplessly by holding the touch button.
Can I use an external switch or smart plug?
Yes. The light has a specific operating mode for this. You must select Mode "B" on the back of the device. In this mode, the light will automatically turn on when your external switch or smart home plug activates the power.
How much weight can the ring hold?
The universal mounting ring is approved for a maximum tensile force of 500N(approximately 50kg). Note: The actual hold depends entirely on the quality of your wall and the anchors used during installation.
Is the light waterproof?
No. The KinkyLight has a protection class of IP20. It is suitable only for indoor use in dry and enclosed spaces. Do not install it in damp areas or clean it with liquids.
What color is the light?
The LED module produces a Warm White glow at 2700 Kelvin. It is designed to create a cozy, pleasant atmosphere.
Can I install this on drywall?
Yes, it can be installed on drywall, wood, brick, or stone. However, you must ensure you use the correct mounting material (anchors/screws) specific to your wall type to ensure the 500N strength rating is met.
How do I clean the cover?
Use a dry, lint-free cloth only. Do not use cleaning agents, solvents, or liquids, as these can damage the electronics and the surface.
Can I replace the light bulb if it dies?
No. The illuminant is a non-replaceable LED module designed for longevity. If the illuminant is damaged, the entire light must be replaced.
What tools do I need for installation?
The package includes TX10 and TX20 screwdrivers. You will additionally need a pencil, a measuring tape, and an electric drill with the appropriate drill bit for your wall type.
Is it safe for people with pacemakers?
Please exercise caution. The removable front cover is held in place by strong magnets. People with pacemakers or other medical implants should keep a safe distance to avoid interference.
